At age 27 I have been developing desktop applications and websites for longer than I can remember. Since I was a kid I had an old IBM PC in my house that I used to write pointless Basic apps on. As soon as I got AOL 3.0 I started making little kilroy sites for various friends and family. This was all fine and dandy but seriously boring.
Outside of friends and family, my first jobs where through various online freelance sites where I had the joy of competing with the rates of people from India.
Throughout my client years I had countless jobs of PHP, CSS, Javascript, Visual Basic, C++, C#, TCL, Flash, Actionscript, Coldfusion, Perl, Python, Microsft SQL, and Java. I had many random projects including porting some games over to PSP, writing some C addons to a PC based MMO, designing some porn site, and lots more.
For the next few years I maintained many successfully websites and desktop applications. I completely abandoned all my knowledge of VB, migrated to C# and began developing PHP to desktop C# APIs. I wrote a paypal clone after paypal screwed me over, and I wrote a domain registrar after registerfly screwed me over.
My current software fetishes are iPhone development, jQuery, Mootools, and excessive use of objects in PHP. I absolutely love JSON and use it with both fancy web UIs with jQuery, as well has backend services for the iPhone.
Recently I spent some time at a web dev shop in Lake Forest doing whatever jobs got forced upon me as well as some freelance video editing for the video game company Atlus.
Im currently hiding out in Venice working for a visual effects facility called Luma Pictures. I build their internal resource & project management software, one of their external client delivery tools, their website, and I get my name in movie credits for it.
